I'd read elsewhere about the benefits of combining piperine with turmeric (curcumin) to increase its absorbtion as curcumin is normally difficult for the body to absorb.
The extent to which it does this with other nutrients is amazing though. Sounds like one of the easiest things us lazy folk can do to boost health.
Great reason to put black pepper on your egg and bacon as well as eating muu pad prik thai dam
Black pepper (Piperine) increases absorption of nutrients; antioxidant properties
Piperine is a naturally occurring compound of black pepper (Piper nigrum Linn) and long pepper (Piper longum Linn) [1] and is one of the most widely used among spices. Piperine, an alkaloid (1-peperoyl piperidine), has been previously evaluated for its potential to enhance the serum levels nutrients in animals and humans.[1,2]
It has been shown that piperine can dramatically increase absorption of selenium, vitamin B, curcumin, vitamin C, coenzyme Q10 [1] and beta-carotene, [2] as well as other nutrients. Piperine favorably stimulates the digestive enzymes of pancreas which enhances the digestive capacity and significantly reduces the gastrointestinal food transit time.

Substance in Black Pepper Increases Nutrient Absorption up to Two Thousand Percent
Putting black pepper on your food may be one of the easiest, most economical ways to boost your overall health status. Piperine, the main alkaloid from black pepper has been shown to substantially increase the bioavailability of the nutrients in foods and supplements. As the quality of food declines and the costs of food and supplements continue to skyrocket, it is increasingly important to your health that the nutrients you consume are able to be used to maximum efficiency by your body.
