Bowie reminded me of something to do with music. Not sure if I would call it something I hate but I was not real happy/excited about it.
First trip to Thailand I stayed at the big hotel next to Pratunam, Indra Regent, and went looking for somewhere to have a beer.
Found a nice bar down the road, a downstairs bar, very clean and modern, and quiet.
Was the only one there, ordered a beer and soon after they cranked up the music, Glen Campbell, "Like a Rhinestone Cowboy", flat out. I could not believe it. What did they think I was, an old hillbilly from Arkansas ?

My number one possible nightmare would be to be stuck in an elevator around Christmas time and being brainwashed through many hours of mindless 'jinger bens' tunes. Such experience would surely drive me to  |

And as far as dress code goes, we dress to suit the climate, which is more often than not hot. We don't get around in ridiculous suits and ties and strut around like we have a stick stuck up our arse. |

Hearing two young farang girls being charged 500 baht last night for an 80 baht journey.
I know it was an 80 baht journey cos I asked them where they had traveled from - Zoe@Yellow to Lucky Bar.
Disgusting.

Farang two week millionaires throwing their money around like drunken sailors on shore leave.
As for the above, I was in Pattaya the other week, 4 young farangs average age about 23, they thought the non meter taxis in Pattaya were great value, contrast and compare with the posts elsewhere from the locals.
A few months back I went to pick up my cousin and his mrs from a hotel in Lower Suk, was quoted from 600 baht to 800 baht, I said no way, cousin asked me how long, I said from here about 45 minutes, oh thats ok thats a bargain, still had is farang head on.
I told him, no its not ok, these people think you are a buffalo, wait here.
Flagged down a taxi, he took us home, total fare, 151 baht, gave the guy 200 and told him to keep the change, guy was all big wais and thank yous.
Maybe I gave suck a generous tip I am contributing to the problem.
Cousin and his mrs, gobsmacked.
Be aware its not just farangs these scum will rip off, they even try it on with Thais.
Mrs told a taxi driver to take me to X and go via Y.
Taxi driver from some one buffalo town in Nakon Nowhere thought he knew best and went a different, longer route, mrs knew exactly where he was going and what he was doing.
Next time the taxi was stopped in traffic the mrs got out and threw him the money.

There was a phase when I was quite often in lower suk.
My problem.
At 2 am there is a traffic jam of taxis.
One sad night; yes my fault, and I got in a taxi.
No meter, F that, got out as he was stuck in the traffic.
Lucky me, he did not have a baseball bat or machete, or maybe he was careful too.Walked to Asoke, lights red, queue of taxis,
"Any one have a meter?"
Nice guy replied, he got me home and like rgs, I gave him 200 bah,t keep the change, tip.
Maybe we are spreading a message, maybe.
