Roy Hodgson: No sympathy for Wales after 2-1 England win at Euro 2016Roy Hodgson insisted he does not feel sorry for his opponents as he basked in the joy of England's injury-time victory over Wales at Euro 2016.
Gareth Bale had given Wales the lead in the first half of Thursday's Group B clash in Lens, but Jamie Vardy equalised 11 minutes after the interval before fellow substitute Daniel Sturridge struck in the dying moments to send England top of the group.
England were denied victory by an added-time goal for Russia in their opening Euro 2016 fixture - and Hodgson had little sympathy for opposing boss Chris Coleman who described it as the lowest moment of his career.

Two games in. Both games I think we've been the better team. But we don't look great.
We've a reasonable set of strikers to choose from, and last night Kane, Sturridge, Vardy, Rashford, Rooney all featured in various roles.
It's the midfield that looks lightweight though. Dier has played well in both games. Rooney was mediocre as usual on the international stage when it counts and did less in midfield than he sometimes does as a striker. Sterling hasn't done much.

England are simply abysmal, leaderless, rudderless and all will soon be exposed. As Frankie Boyle put it..."I hope they get knocked out on the day of the Brexit vote"

I hope Wales can thwart the Russians, and the police do their job. Although I think Russia's fate in that group is in the hands of the other teams.

All looks wide open at the moment. Wales thru and top of the group. Could go further. Unlike another place in Greater England

Slovakia showed up how limited they are - in fact, Russia and Wales are seriously limited too. Without Bale, Wales would be the normal nonentities that they are, and this Russian team looks woeful.
There's no one coming up for England in the next round that they can't beat ( with ease ). They will struggle against the usual big contenders. A semi-final appearance would be a decent result - and I think this England team will kick on and be more realistic contenders at the next world cup than they have been for a while.
Lacking? - Claude Makelele type.
I suppose that's easy to say, virtually every team is lacking his type.

That's the only bad news I've heard this entire year.
