So here's what's going to happen. Nicola Sturgeon is going to ask the EU that if, in the event of a Scottish independence vote, will Scotland be fast-tracked to membership. If the EU say yes, that's the prize she'll put in forward of the Scottish electorate. I can guarantee you that many Labour politicians and supporters will cross the floor and support independence. The Labour party in Scotland is disgusted, appalled, that we are out of the EU. A motion of no confidence has already been tabled against Jeremy Corbyn. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-scotland-politics-36621030 I voted REMAIN - I wanted to REMAIN, and I regret the result for the whole UK. On the quiet, I hoped for the result as delivered, a resounding REMAIN in Scotland, out by the English electorate. The Scottish result was 62 - 38 and that included my nationalists voting out to hurry along the result achieved ( a risky strategy but it worked ). Every single constituent part of Scotland voted to REMAIN - the closest vote being in Moray ( 51.1 - 49.9 ). Glasgow was 67 - 33, City of Edinburgh, 74 -26. During the last referendum, membership of the EU was one of the two big sticks that the No campaign used to beat us with. They've lost that big stick now. The break up of the UK is now in the hands of the EU - if they grant us fast track, you can guarantee independence will happen. Excellent.

A mild case of foot-in-mouth-disease, or just an American who doesn't realise what he's saying here.

I can understand the want/desire for independance, well why not become independant.
I fail to see how swapping London for Brussels can in anyway be condsidered independant.
If it was the same as Norway I could understand.
