Smart money is on Big San getting the England job. I think he deserves it, and I think he has been underestimated for years.
He was big into data analysis long before it became fashionable. The first time I noted he something special was during his Bolton Wanderers tenure when someone pointed out;
"Sam Allardyce is a genius at getting 7/10 standard players to play to 7/10 standard every week. Other managers are geniuses at getting 8/10 standard players to play at 6/10 every week."
I think he will do well for England - but maybe I'll delay those good wishes until after the Russia World Cup qualifying.
Can't be having that mob going through at the expense of Scotland.

Well, he can't do any worse than his predecessors.

And a much better choice than Southgate, who Lancaster Gate were first hoping for. Interesting to see Shrek backing the appointment in the hopes that he won't lose his place. He (Shrek) goes on to say "Hopefully it's a good way and we can be successful under him." and "Am I going to carry on? It was asked of me after the Euros, but yes, I'll be there." www.bbc.com/sport/football/36872641If Sam is really the man for England then surely his first task would be to take this useless cnut outside and put him down before he infects any more of the team.

I agree - it's been a while since he was an important player for England. To me, England should be playing like the AC Milan of old, supertight packed defence, hit them on the break. They're not good enough for expansive football. "One nil to the Arsenal," was the old song. England could be doing with a bit of that.
