BANGKOK — Two guards working for a nightclub in a popular backpacker destination lost their jobs for kicking and beating two British men. According to police, the two victims and their friends attempted to enter Brick Bar on Khaosan Road at around 3am Monday, but they were intoxicated and carrying beer bottles at the time, so the bouncers denied them entry. Upon being refused entry, the four Britons went into a nearby restroom, where they allegedly splashed their beer on other customers, at which point the bouncers intervened, dragged two of the tourists into the street and assaulted them, said Tourist Police deputy chief Col. Nithithorn Chintakanon. www.khaosodenglish.com/news/crimecourtscalamity/crime-crime/2016/08/18/bouncers-beat-british-tourists-khaosan-road-video/

The usual routine. Beer in wits out.
Used to see the same routine when I was new plod pounding the beat in Soho, spotty kids been sniffing the bar maids apron, then go to the offy a drop of the hardstuff and it was once a man and twice a boy and try to crash the clubs.
Those ''doormen'' certainly bounced the twats around.

^ Yes, as usual the mentality of the Thai woman exceeds that of the Thai man. The cries of "enough" are clearly heard but the crazy bouncer kept going. What is it with these young western guys who travel overseas, is it mandatory to get involved in some sort of drama to have a tale to tell when they get home ? When I first arrived in Thailand I used to blame the Thais for these sort of incidents but after 11 years I am beginning to wonder.

I've seen the fighting late night in Soi Green Mango on Samui between locals and brain dead tourists. Both sets of young idiots are up for it of course....bottles brandished etc....the gun crime tends to be more Thai on Thai strangely enough.

I guess not many tourists bring their guns with them for some reason.

A mate of mine from Devon witnessed a gang fight between young Thai guys in CR one night from his guesthouse balcony, he said it was very brutal and although there were no weapons used he thought one guy was going to be kicked to death. They can be very volatile / violent in Thailand (just as they can be in Australia) and a mob of young drunken, cocky Aussies, Englishmen or Eurotrash can easily "set them off".
