I was talking to a guy recently who described the human race as vermin. He met the Inner Bastid in me as I verbally destroyed him, I could not effin believe it. However, it got me thinking as to what others think of their fellow humans? maybe there's far more people out there that think we are vermin than I could have believed. Fire away.

Anyone who generalises like that is a moron and should be treated so. That's like saying all black people are drunken, violent criminals, which of course is not true. There are a lot of good people out there and I tend to seek them out while avoiding the bad ones. I accept the fact they exist, I just don't like to associate with them.
That guy you spoke to sounds like he failed in life and is trying to drag the entire human race down to his level, to justify his failure.

"I wish I loved the Human Race; I wish I loved its silly face; I wish I liked the way it walks; I wish I liked the way it talks; And when I'm introduced to one, I wish I thought "What Jolly Fun!"

All that comes to my mind concerning''The Human Race'' is that according to legend, fairy tales etc some god made the human race. Well he, she, it sure had some grave mental issues when we view the current results in the other place.

However, it got me thinking as to what others think of their fellow humans? maybe there's far more people out there that think we are vermin than I could have believed. Fire away. You have posed a difficult question, one I have tried to answer in my talk with godot. Education might be one thread, but that does not solve the primal animal drives we all have. We are driven by sex and hunger, as are vermin. We, humans, can be aware of this, (education, world university, not academic). There is a survival instinct that in most animals provides a do not kill the species, Darwin, improve it , mutation.Behind this is survival of the fittest and that is strength, the power to dominate and mate. Humans have gone to the next step and have sublimated those base instincts. Religion? To be able to think. To have god like powers. My answer, I do not know, or as <Bunny boiler> would say, still navel gazing and will until I die. Death I do not fear.

bowie, the banned replying. I like people, need to connect with them. We do not understand each other, each has unique experiences from birth (after our conversation with god), we try to understand each other, but that has to be at a personal level. The person, not the garbage we all carry, culture, religion, language, race. Go beyond that and you can make some connection, but it is limited. Better than sitting under a tree navel gazing. Hence my Buddhism.
