Think this link is someone's wet dream, I have no problem with a pikey visa per se, but as I have argued many times on the dark side on this exact topic, there has to be some control checks and balances in place as to what the pikeys are getting up to and "legalization" of their activates...and my proposal was, and always will be the following, per Uncle Souties manifesto for labor reform in Thailand, which would result in a 1 year extension of stay and a WP 1. Said pikeys need to register a Thb 1.0 million Limited Company - no different to what the self employed do in the UK 2. No requirement for 4 Thai employees 3. Said pikeys have full and private medical insurance 4. Said pikeys need to provide full disclosure of their business activates per the company registration process 5. As most pikeys claim they are not doing business in Thailand, a 22% withholding tax is applicable / provisional personal tax at 35% which will be adjusted against earnings at year end 6. Full book keeping and annual auditing required to maintain the "visa/WP" Self-employed people in the UK aren't obliged to run a limited company. Some do if it's advantageous to them, but they don't have to.

Fair enough, the point I was trying to get at was in the being self employed ones needs to do it as a "legal entity" If you work for yourself in the UK your at the very minimum your are classed as a sole trader and you must be registered and assumes the legal liability of the undertaking in your personal capacity strictly speaking setting up a Ltd Company means technically your not self employed but your are an owner/employee of that company which brings certain "tax benefits" and shifts liabilities to that company

Thailand, must be one of the easiest countries to set up a business and get a visa. I can only assume irrespective of what I read elsewhere about people making $$$$ of mullah per day, that aint the case.
My effin gripe with them, why do they deserve special status, get in line and do like the majority of us, get legal and follow the rules, they really aint that difficult.
I remember taking part in a discussion elsewhere, where some gypo type wrote a precis about Hua Hin, he was soon ripped to shreds by people asking him if he had ever actually visited Thailand never mind HH, Plagiarists springs to mind.
