True Mosha, but been plenty of others that have got off, or a suitable scspegoat. I am guessing this bloke was not a kegal tour guide, just a Somchai on the prowl.
I hope the poor girl makes a full recovery

Sounded to me like he was at least a known volunteer. Whether she had his name or not IDK.

I fear this is way more common than we hope - and unreported.
I mentioned earlier this year an incident where Hill Tribe guys sexually assaulted a British tourist near Chiang Mai - no police report as it would have created problems for the unlicensed farang tour guide.
