Worst example of that I know of was a pals sister who drank acid. Took her a week to die, and she left behind a months old baby that Meh and Paw are now bringing up. 

Usual tale of chaotic drug lifestyle, the sister and her man had both served time for drug possession. Once the sister died, the baby's father bolted into the monkhood for months leaving all financial responsibility to my pal - who was far from impressed.

Suicide is good example of certain people having a certain opinion of it right up until it happens within their own family, then their attitude changes.
I well remember a thread over at the dung heap about suicide, some of the posters were brutal in their attacks on anyone stupid/weak/inconsiderate enough to take their own life.
Turned out none of those guys had ever lost a family member that way.
I can say from experience when it does happen under your own roof you look at in a different way. Which is probably why I am a bit more forgiving and understanding than some.
