I've only ever been to one Microsoft launch event (for highly paid professionals). It was in London's Docklands. Not keen on the trip to that benighted part of town. Even less keen that one hour after the designated start time (and far too much rock music) the event still hadn't started. I walked out, only to be accosted by multiple Microsoft minions trying to persuade me to stay.

For what? windows cost of ownership is demonstratively lower than the costs of buying and maintaing systems for medium and large businesses, A home owner may, as he does not count his time find Linux cheaper but that is not allwways the case.

windows cost of ownership is demonstratively lower than the costs of buying and maintaing systems for medium and large businesses Nonsense. That's the sort of farcical "statistic" that's churned out by Microsoft and their shills. Just looking at something for which data are readily available, for the top 1 million web servers, 98.3% use Linux or FreeBSD. A mere 1.7% use Microsoft Windows. Still think cost of ownership is lower with Microsoft? Data from www.w3cook.com/
