You shall only mention officially sanctioned facts. In Russia, so superbly ruled by the much admired Putin. Admired by some that is. "It's OK to fine someone for repeating a historical fact, says Russian Supreme Court Truly bizarre decision over web post about invasion of Poland in 1939 The Russian Supreme Court has upheld a conviction against a blogger who correctly noted that the Soviet Union jointly invaded Poland with the Nazi government in 1939. The truly bizarre decision follows the conviction of 37-year-old Vladimir Luzgin earlier this year for posting "knowingly false information," under a new law that is supposed to prevent the glorification of Nazism, but which critics say is being used to rewrite Russian history and quash critics of Vladimir Putin's annexation of Crimea. Wow, a country rewriting its history and brainwashing the masses, who could ever believe it?
See China and Japan for details.
One of the best reads I ever had was a history of WW2 from a Russian perspective, certainly called into question all those Hollywood epics starring Audi Murphy etc.
In fact wasnt it Hollywood that rewrote history a few years back in the Enigma machine movie (sorry cant remember its named and cant be assed googling)?
The Patriot is another that wasnt quite as it was screened.
Lets not forget the historical inaccuracies of BraveHeart.
