British teacher and backpacker Gavin Topley had to spend a week in a prison at Thailand’s border and slept on floormats amidst cockroaches and bedbugs because his passport was stained. Topley, 30, was leaving Thailand earlier this month and attempting to enter Vietnam, where he was meant to start a teaching job, but he was denied entry to Vietnam for having stains on his passport that he said came from leaking hand sanitizing gel. Topley had to return to Bangkok to get a new passport, but he overstayed his visa by a short period. Because overstaying a visa is technically a crime, he couldn’t be released back into the country, and because his passport was damaged, he couldn’t enter another country either. bangkok.coconuts.co/2016/09/13/brit-backpacker-spends-week-thai-jail-due-stained-passport-calls-it-hell-earth

I think Gavin Topley is taking the p**s 1. Santising hand cleaning gel will not lift the ink from a current pp 2. And typically a new British pp takes 2 weeks and he would get 30 entry on a visa waivers
Another pikey taking bollox and deserves to be locked up with the roachies

Is he one of these new age digital nomads we keep hearing about, you know the ones that contribute so much to the Thai economy, who without them Thailand would fall apart?
Well done the Thais.

Tats and a wife beater, is this man actually a teecha? I wonder what prestigious International skool actually employed him? Is the head of HR about to be transferred to an inactive post. Yeah I am a Dutchman, No offense to our resident cloggy, Uncle, just a Brit way of speaking, no offence intended.
