The family of a woman who died after being trapped in Thailand has finally got her ashes back home. Kathryn Williamson, from North Shields, spent more than two months on life support after collapsing while on holiday in Bangkok. Her devastated loved ones launched an online fundraising campaign to bring the 51-year-old home and cover the huge cost of medical bills they had racked up. But she died in July and since then her body had been stuck in Thailand because the family could not pay the money owed. The family managed to raise more than £3,000, alongside money from Kathryn’s partner, and she has now been brought back to Tyneside. Her ashes arrived back in London on a flight from Asia last Thursday, before she was brought back to her beloved North East earlier this week. www.chroniclelive.co.uk/news/north-east-news/loved-ones-finally-bring-home-11896025
