Not sure why 'anything else' but nothing else seems to fit. The Ghost of St. Michael's, a 1941 comedy with Comedian Will Hay. Also John Laurie is in usual charming Scottish self. An ineffectual science teacher William Lamb (Will Hay) is hired by a school recently transferred because of World War II to the remote Dunbain Castle on the Isle of Skye, Scotland. Posing as (amongst many other things) an Old Etonian, Lamb settles down into his new surroundings and becomes acquainted with the various local Scottish traditions and legends that abound and strikes up a friendship with one of the other masters, Hilary Teasdale (Claude Hulbert). en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Ghost_of_St._Michael's

This old movie with Will Hay might have fit in the 'walting' thread as well. "Ben Cutlet (Will Hay) is a sea captain who entertains his bar room audience with tales of his days at sea, although his maritime experience extent is only the navigating of a coal barge. His tall tales catch him out when he is conned into commanding the Rob Roy, an unseaworthy ship, to the West Indies by a gang of criminals who mean to scuttle the ship for the insurance money." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windbag_the_Sailor
