And therein lies the ploblem with you bloody antipodeans, what you call chips, I call crisps. Concur with your none of that poncy Mickey D crap, french fries, didnt the Yanks rename them Freedom Fries? On a sesh one night with my brother, his dozy mrs asks do you want some chips, half way through a sesh and a bit Hank Marvin, I am thinking to myself, would love a chip butty or two, his dozy mrs appears with a plate of Pringles, .

Chip buttie ( drool drool) I hear ya. Pringles are awful no thanks processed rubbish and not even made of potatoes.
In Ozland my fave junk food were potato scollops, deep fried with vinegar.

In Brit Land I liked chips (soaked in vinegar), mushy peas and HP Sauce. Heck throw in a battered bit of cod for good measure. Traditional fish and chips is hard to beat.

If you want to impress on your kids the dangers of eating this processed crap, get a pringle in your hand and set fire to it with a lighter.

In this case the "chips" that <Bunny boiler> was referring to are the hot, deep fried strips of potato, usually associated with a Fish and Chip Shop. The crisps you speak of are sometimes called crisps in Oz, as in Smiths Crisps. My Dad told me when I was young, that back in the "ol' country" when you bought a packet of Smiths at the pub there was a little packet of salt inside so you could salt them yourself or eat them without salt.
