Wait till you see my sausage thread! Would that be a real British sausage (aka Emulsified High-Fat Offal Tube) or a Thai version? "At the same time, European legislation has led to some changes in the great British banger. Rules on better labelling of food made it compulsory to specify when a product contained "mechanically recovered meat" - a substance sucked out of bones - and said that it would not count as part of the product's meat content. At this point manufacturers lost their enthusiasm for it, and it is now rarely encountered." news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/6481969.stm

Please no ''black pudding'' thread. OK, what about a 'balkenbrij' thread or do we have a thread for 'interesting foods'? I think we could also add haggis to the list. "Balkenbrij (or 'karboet', 'tuet' and 'pannas') is a traditional Dutch food that shares some of the characteristics of American scrapple. Traditionally, its preparation and consumption was an important economizing custom, especially for the rural poor. In particular, it allowed farmers to make use of various less-desirable parts of pork, which were made more palatable by being added to a seasoned porridge of groats or flour. " en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balkenbrij

We know mate....and I am going to cover this subject well.....Black Pudding is an essential part of the bacon experience here on the Bangkok forum! A question though, if I may. What's the relation between Bangkok and 'black pudding / bacon' ? I would have expected either a thread in "the Nag's head" or a topic "where can I get 'black pudding / bacon' in BKK". Certainly getting bacon doesn't seem to be a problem. Of course how one handles the stuff (as in prepare, bake, BBQ, etc.) is a different kettle of fish.
