The Hog's Breath Cafe has apologised to a Brisbane customer after she found a sink plug in her salad during the weekend. The customer posted an image on Hog's Breath Aspley Facebook page, where it was "liked" more than 2000 times. Hog's Breath Cafe Australian general manager Ross Worth said the company had been in contact with the woman and apologised. He said food hygiene was a top priority for the company and they had notified local health authorities about the incident. Mr Worth said the plug had come from a sanitised ice food bath that was designated for fresh produce such as lettuce and tomatoes to be washed in. "On that day the staff members have pulled fresh produce out of the bath and accidently pulled the plug with it," he said. "The business owner has re-trained his staff on the right processes to make sure this doesn't ever happen again." Mr Worth said plugs would be chained to the ice baths to prevent them from being dislodged. The customer, who has since removed her post from Facebook, also claimed kitchen staff "thought it was funny" when they were told of the errant plug. "I can't comment if they were laughing - I would guess not," Mr Worth said. www.smh.com.au/queensland/sink-plug-found-in-hogs-breath-cafe-salad-20150421-1mq6w6.html

They had one of these Hogs Breath places in Patong .... it was shite. It went under and then they came back in a year or so later in a different location and seems to be better.

Without the plug there would have been a hole in that story

Once upon a time I worked in the kitchen of a high-end Swiss hotel. Nothing found in food would surprise me. It's a wonder people choose to eat out. Likewise, worked in catering from my early teens to early twenties. Some places were beyond the pale. Worked with some twatty neo nazi who refused to cook for non whites. Not a good move in London, got the shit kicked out of him one night in London and left soon after.

How could you possibly miss seeing a kitchen plug when arranging salad in a bowl? Was it disguised as a piece of tomato? Shaking my head over this one. Perhaps Mr Worth received a payoff from the Hog to remove his Facebook page.
