Minimum wages will rise to between Bt305 and Bt310 per day in 69 provinces from the current nationwide rate of Bt300, effective from January 1, 2017. Labour Ministry permanent secretary ML Puntrik Smiti said after chairing a meeting of the tripartite Central Wage Committee yesterday that the meeting approved rises of the minimum daily wage next year in 69 provinces, while the minimum in the other |eight provinces will remain at Bt300. ...but not enforced across the board.
A more diligent and fair way to compensate employees would be an engaged hourly rate, removing this barbaric standard "day wage" and the immoral and corrupt associations. Imagine the possibilities...

Typically speaking an hourly rate is in fact a more barbaric standard, and more open to abuse Ie lunch times not paid, breaks not paid, going the toilet not paid etc...
