Hundreds of wrecked motorcycles. The carnage, well I let you imagine, I did.
Cars too, many obviously head on into something.
Yes, just one small police station.
A new friend, of sorts.
I can guarantee if I step outside, on the balcony and wait, yes like I wait when bird watching, just wait and, there the siren, the ambulace, rescue pick up., sooner than the bird I knew I would see.
No, I will not drive again.

It is said that every cloud has a silver lining. Yes I like those platitudes (was that the right word?).
My son had to get himself to school today. He was pleased. He is a growing youth, ready to be independent.
He could have taken a taxi, but no, he would do as his peers do,the song tell ( phonetic) and he relished coming home by himself. Time his, to play, flirt, grow up.
Home not much later than when I chauffered; the pride of independence.
And I do not have to get up early tomorrow.

It is said that every cloud has a silver lining. Yes I like those platitudes (was that the right word?). My son had to get himself to school today. He was pleased. He is a growing youth, ready to be independent. He could have taken a taxi, but no, he would do as his peers do,the song tell ( phonetic) and he relished coming home by himself. Time his, to play, flirt, grow up. Home not much later than when I chauffered; the pride of independence. And I do not have to get up early tomorrow. Yes the birds must fly sometime buhi and two of them with one stone it would appear. A change in all of your routines. It is only us old fellas who feel the sense of loss do you think? Certainly the laddie will have more time to chat up his girlfriends on the way home now... |

No, I will not drive again. There comes a time with all of us that we have to give up some of the things we do. The roads are a dangerous place in any country and here in particular. I am glad you know what is best. Each of those motorcycles wrecked is not just a hunk of metal, it is a person with a whole family affected by the loss. |

and also one mans loss is another mans treasure, there's good money in salvage parts.
I took a jeepney a few days ago and the accelerator was a piece of string out of the bonnet and through the window.
How they drive these things amazes me.

I'm still somewhat amazed seeing a group of teenagers happily together each absorbed in (or by?) his/her own mobile phone. Happy together indeed  |
