The guy here had barricaded himself in to his house for four years after losing it to his ex wife.

A former helicopter pilot who spent four years barricaded inside a farmhouse which he lost in a divorce battle has now been arrested by police.
Peter Elliott turned the £500,000 property in Appleby, Cumbria, into a fortress and surrounded it with barbed wire, tree branches and fitted CCTV cameras.
His ex-wife Leonie Butler, 45, obtained a court order in 2012 forcing him to leave Pinewood Farm following their bitter £6 million split.
...............................................
What was the point of that? I know what I could do with four years of my life, and sitting festering behind barbed wire is not one of the things I would consider.
And she won in the end.
And I bet she's enjoyed some great foreign holidays during that time too - laughing at his stupidity.
................................................
At one point my divorce was like "War of the Roses," from the other side until I realized what the game was, had a laugh about it, and switched off. That drove the ex nuts.
Apparently my role was to play the broken heart, depressed and downtrodden for the rest of my life.
What I did was start traveling, built a cracking company, and went on a dating rampage ( I took that a bit too far, to be fair - sickened myself ).
................................................
And I realized - the opposite of love is not hate, it's indifference.
I know nothing about my ex - I don't know if she's dating or living with someone. I don't know what she drives, where she drinks, what she does with her life.
I pity this guy for spending so much time wrapped up in this nonsense.
