Something Trump Said About Airports in his victory speech - he said he was going to rebuild them.
Okay, this thread s not about Trump, it's about something that happened today that Smokie is aware of.
A pal of mine booked a flight to Guadalajara via LAX. Did you know that LAX does not have a transit area, in common with all major US airports? Unbelievable. He was in transit when I got a message to him to divert to Canada, as the US would insist he had a visa to clear immi to then board the next flight. Absurd.
He spoke to his airline who told him not to worry about it. Then as he was boarding the plane, they pulled him back.
"We clarified with the US Embassy 0 they won't let you through without a visa."
His airline then diverted him through Canada as I suggested. Due to flight times, it's added 21 hours to his journey.
Smokie is aware as I asked his opinion whether I should tip the guy off or not - Smokie advised better he knows, and luckily he picked up the FB message after getting off his first flight.
This is ridiculous - and the reason why I avoid American airports like the plague. For a country that established and drove the international airline market to not have transit areas is a disgrace, especially at places like Newark, LAX, and O'Hare.
