I have fond memories of consuming vast amounts of electric cabbage and listening to "Songs of Love and Hate" back in the early seventies. A great artist.

Such an incredible talent. The world is worse off today. I was intending to post the Jeff Buckley interpretation of this masterpiece, but on listening to this version, no, it outshines all, even Cohen's earlier versions. Thanks for posting.

but on listening to this version, no, it outshines all, even Cohen's earlier versions. I'm pretty sure the clip comes from the 2005 documentary about him, "I'm Your Man". The whole documentary is well worth watching. It shows not only how his songs have survived the decades and remain incredibly powerful, but also how he remained an incredible performer well into old age. p.s. The Buckley version of Hallelujah is very fine, too.

Saw him in Melbourne a few years ago, even I as an atheist could relate, it wasnt so much a concert, more of a religious experience. Certainly got my moneys worth, concert lasted for nearly 3 hours.

"Suzanne' was my favourite. Fondest memories of the halcyon days I spent in Kangaroo Valley Earls Court in the early '70s. Jennifer Warnes does great covers on her album "Famous Blue Raincoat'.

Awesome guy. The Nobel people gave the prize to the wrong singing poet.

That's a great site rg, I have been going on there nearly every day and downloading tracks from different albums and putting them all in a folder of "various artists" Where the heck do they find all those great albums ?
