After 24 years of operating under franchise agreements with other airlines, Glasgow-based Loganair has announced that it will start flying under its own name.
The airline, a franchise of Flybe since 2007, will commence independent operations on September 1 2017, promising to bring “a new, definitively Scottish identity to the skies”.
It is yet to be revealed quite what that Scottish identity will entail. However, today’s announcement was accompanied by an artist’s impression of the airline’s new livery – emblazoned with “Scotland’s Airline” on its side, and a tail covered in red and black tartan.
