An experiment in Mexico seems to show that they are. Apparently, being a traffic policeman used to be a licence to print money, so the local mayor decided to employ women only to do the job - and reports of corruption dropped 99%. This article discusses various reasons why, and indeed, why it's too early to know if this idea is true. The interesting thing was the notion ( I agree I think ) that women are more risk averse, and won't risk their jobs. So is the future for Thailand, for example, to have an all-female police force? www.bbc.com/news/world-latin-america-38077422

Are females less corrupt? I would say so but only to a point. The majority of times females are less corrupt, whether for self preservation reasons or because females have lesser opportunities to be corrupt (the old boy’s network is still strong).
However, there are certain females who have tasted power and will do anything to protect and magnify their power. These women are corrupt and will tread on anyone who gets in their way.
Examples of these women (but by no means limited to) include: Yingluck Shinawatra Cristina Kirchner Imelda Marcos Eva "Evita" Peron Mother Theresa Angela Merkel? Hillary Clinton?
That’s without going on to the past Queens of Europe who were rotten to the core.

On a side note to this, Blether notes that that women are more risk averse, and won't risk their jobs. I totally agree with this. When I first started work for my company the shop floor workers were all male. Now over 50% of the shop floor workers are female. Because they are more risk averse we have found that they are less likely to follow the bad habits and shortcuts from the older workers. The production and quality of our product has shot up since we started employing females on the shop floor. It also gives me some eye candy while I'm at work.

Eva BTW why is it that somehow I have to think of females when I hear 'working ones' way to the top'. Maybe I'm just the ordinary male chauvinist type ?

Mostly at work at one of the local banks' IT center, the one which also includes their training center I can only agree with you

Megawati Sukarnoputri. Sheesh. She's only the woman who brought down the Suharto regime in the world's 4th most populous country and Indonesia's 4th president. The current president, Jokowi, is her protege. Has she been corrupt? I don't think so, or at least not very corrupt. I think that men, being hunters, always look for maximum advantage regardless of other implications, hence corruption. Women, being gatherers, tend to look for harmonious relationships in their societies, being an impediment towards corruption.

Where I worked the female tradeswomen tended to get promoted out of the way. Physically incapable of doing the job. It doesn't go down too well with the ambitious guys though.
