Scots suspect in Myanmar murder did NOT flee to Thailand
POLICE believe a Scots teacher on the run after being accused of murder in Myanmar is not hiding out in Thailand as initially suspected.
Harris Binotti, 25, who was brought up in Dumfries, is suspected of murdering colleague Gary Ferguson during an all-night drinking session.
Police in the south-east Asian country - formerly known as Burma - thought Binotti fled to Thailand after the 47-year-old's death last month.
But Thai police have now revealed that the suspect has not entered their country since mid-October, before Mr Ferguson's death.
