Absolutely not, a beautiful garden restaurant.
Do you think every one lives in down town Bangkok?
The office workers around here eat at lunchtime. They do not earn enormous salaries.
I did dine out last week on lower suk, lebanese. A thousand baht plus for wife and myself. I can not afford that every day.
I am a long time resident of Bangkok, know my way around. Not a down town tourist.

^ Beirut? Yummy! Yeah, I miss all my local Thai places out in Rangsit. Another adventure in Myanmar's cuisine has resulted in another period of brief convalescence, woe is me and all that. Miss Thai food and food hygiene;8 years in Thailand and sick once.

So very true, one thing about Thai is that they are very clean.
I never worry about street food.
I was writing about a restaurant, one that has been featured on television, one acclaimed as the best.
I know the owner and her daughter who runs the place now.
Hence the joke of, this this, this and this. I walk in and mutter what I am eating, my son's friend goes straight away to get me an ice cold beer.
Newbies wonder how I just sit down and all takes place. I order as I walk in.

Same here seb, probably spent the same amount of time in Thailand since 2005, only really had one bad dose of food poisoning and that was my fault.

Bought some beef mince from BigC in Chiang Rai, made meat pies.  Very nice, but had some leftover mince in the fridge, reheated some a few days later to have on toast - big mistake.  Was not game to go more than 5 mtrs from the bathroom for three days.

Probably had more doses of it in Australia in that time.
