I remember it clearly, at school , I gave a verbal to one of my "friends" even remember his name, Ken Taylor. Thought he was well hard. It turned into a sort of fight. I just let him hit me a few times. Rope a dope ,the crowd screaming " bundle, bundle, " . Then I just turned away and walked off. The crowd wanting blood. "You could have flattened him , ". Yeh and what would that prove?

^^^ Not at all, strength of character. I did not want to hurt him, Ken that is and in truth he did not want to hurt me. We remained friends.

It would prove hitting beats getting hit buhi And that is the story of my life, including Bangkok. Just face up, and dare.It could go pear shape. Mostly people do not want to get hurt. Now to the woman theme. Can she? My wife can and her daughter, try it. Yes you as a man are stronger, but there are ways. Violence begets nothing.

Which takes me back to the evening I tried to describe.. I left, knew they were all p**sed and no good would come of it. Could I have prevented what happened? I know now what did take place. Nok insulted Hui and a fight broke out. Hence his facial bruises. Last evening I did tell Hui I was disgusted with him. He sober, apologised. Friends.

And before the replies of who the hell does he think he is. Well they all know. It is not street macho, it is not family, it is respect, Thai respect.

Are you Jean Claude Van Damm? No , a simple soul. Not requiring threats. I speak or walk away. I used to be able to run fast.Alas no more, so other strategies. Oh I forgot that phone call, but he was right to be angry. Angry with me, or his wife or with himself? Why was his wife with me? Why was I with her? Answers in cryptic language.

I abhor violence but sometimes it does the trick. I remember when I was about 13 or 14 there was a kid of about my age who lived a couple of streets away. For some unknown reason he took a dislike to me. He went to a different school, finished earlier and would wait for me on my way home. After I got off the bus there was a small wooded area that I had to walk through. He would wait there and start to verbally abuse me calling me 'an effin c***' and suchlike. When I completely ignored him I was an 'effing coward'. Although I never used foul language myself (strict Catholic upbringing) I thought 'words can't harm me'. My compete ignoring him seemed to goad him even further. Then one day he started throwing lumps of mud it me, one day a lump hit me in the back. I was worried that next it would be stones and it would be getting serious. This had been going on for two weeks. One day I determined that if he did it once more I would no longer ignore it. Sure enough he was waiting for me, I walked up to him (which took him by surprise, he expected me to walk away as usual) and I punched him as hard as I could on the nose. The look of shock on his face with the blood pouring down from his nose was a joy to behold. I didn't say a word to him, merely turned around and walked away. Needless to say that wasn't the end of it. That evening his parents came round to my place. I truthfully told them what had happened, the mud slinging and foul language. They went away and that was the last I heard of it.He avoided me completely after that.
