this spelling is archaic, anachronistic and should be scrapped. Oh dear! Do you actually understand the meanings of "archaic" and "anachronistic"?

Tony, did you see this video ? It was with that clip you posted from that great movie "Deliverance". Three very talented young guys. Check out the way the kid with the banjo uses the machine heads as he is playing -

And Mick, may I say how impressed I am with your help in getting this thread sorted out. This thread has been 'on topic' for way too long.

Using "brilliant" to admire absolutely anything. Not just Einstein or a sparkling diamond, but also a plate of spaghetti or a chair. Please get over this word and stop applying it to everything under the sun.

Anyway, moving right along, while looking at banjo related videos I have been reminded of a great artist by the name of Doc Watson who I first heard of back in the seventies. Will find some of his finest music and post it on the music thread.

(gag, hack, barf) * When people describe something like a scoop of ice-cream as being "awesome" I feel like rubbing it all over their idiotic face ! The first time you lay eyes on Mt Everest, that is the appropriate time to use that word. Not in effin' Swensons !

Hold on, some of we more venerable chappies here when we were younger always had ''BRILLIANT'' hair. This of course being due to BRILLIANTINE.'' Mind you there are I think a couple of aged, BRYLCREAM BOYS here nowadays.

No, you don't want your beautiful head of hair "ravaged" by your tin hat, do you ?
