Left wing vegan has Swiss passport application REJECTED as locals are ‘fed up’ with her A LEFT-WING vegan who has lived in Switzerland since childhood has had her request for a Swiss passport rejected after annoying locals with petitions against cow bells Nancy Holten, who has lived in Switzerland since she was eight, is fluent in Swiss German and has two children who are Swiss nationals, has had her second request for a Swiss passport rejected after irritating members of her community. A passionate animal rights activist, Mrs Holten has campaigned against the use of cow bells, but locals say they are “fed up” with her activities, which they say are challenging Swiss traditions www.express.co.uk/news/world/752693/swiss-passport-application-vegan-local-traditions-annoying-nancy-holten-switzerland

I wonder what it would be like to be a right-wing vegan ? Probably what I imagine it would be like to be a woman trapped inside a man's body.

"Under Swiss law citizenship applicants are usually required to speak a national language, respect Swiss law and order and be well integrated in the community".
Britain could learn a thing or two from the Swiss.

How can a tourist ( Rubl's link ) go to the alps and complain about cowbells?
I enjoy the sound of the bells - and even if I didn't, who could complain about centuries of tradition?

I don't like tourists, or migrants for that matter, coming to Australia and complaining about our stupid way of life. If you don't like it get back on the plane or boat. Same deal in Thailand, I get p**sed off when I hear people complaining about things like the loudspeakers blaring in the villages, or dogs barking, or roosters crowing, it's a Thai thing, and they are not going to stop it just because some farang don't like it. I don't like the way they kill themselves on the road here, does not look like they are concerned with my thoughts, judging by the latest holiday road toll. Only thing I can do is stop using the roads, which is a bit hard if I want to go into town to have a sherbet with the blether.

Because they are leftie luvvie vegans ? Another rubl link (see above) shows that a business complained and bells were replaced by GPS devices in Austria. Of course in Switserland there may be no businesses complaining about cow bells waking up tourists and locals should shut up.

Because they are leftie luvvie vegans ? I'm not a vegan but the cows I eat are. I don't seeing forests being knocked down the way they are, but I spent years in the logging and earthmoving industry knocking trees down. Don't like seeing the oceans raped and fished out, but spent years in the fishing/prawning industry. Hate what the mining industry does to the environment but spent years in the mining industry, earthmoving and engineering. I would not be game to complain about cowbells because sure as shit someone would find bell ringing somewhere in my employment history, which is a bit like Charlie Drake's, God bless him.

Church bells ringing too early Sunday mornings can annoy a lot of people. Also the imam starting at dawn is not loved by many
