Effin frogs. I escaped to the country to get peace and quiet. And to be fair, no cockerel chorus, and the only time that the dogs howl is when some eejit runs past with one of those loudspeaker trucks. But the frogs, wtf. Anyone that says the Thai countryside is a quiet, relaxing place is gibbering. Countryside ? I live in Bangkok, about a mile from Chitralada Palace and almost nightly I see small frogs hopping along, know when it's sunrise because of some roosters crowing, next an assortment of dogs and cats, gingjoks, etc., etc. And of course all those people here  You have people near you rubl? My condolences. |

Of the sounds, natural, I love them.I am fortunate as to where i chose to locate, in Bangkok, as in my previous abodes. The dawn chorus, the frogs, tookays and the noisiest the koel, an asian cuckoo. I love the sound of those nok iang, get your mrs to translate. Birds arse, my translation. Yours? |

An abundance of frogs indicates a healthy environment, be thankful you can see and hear them. The most common one around here is the painted bullfrog. they tend to 'walk' rather than hop. My golden retriever bitch loves to much them raw.

Frogs are great, be thankful its not a tookay. Posted this before, but its worth a repeat. Yai Lilly was going crazy with a machete in her hand, whats wrong yai? that tookay gohok chip hai. She couldnt sleep so she listened to the tookay, and counted the number of calls, then bought a lottery ticket, that didnt win, the tookay was headed for the cooking pot if she ever got her hands on it. There's a massive tookay in the bar next to the field, about a foot long. Wonderful colours but me mao nid noi. Mai ow. Can you please learn to write Thai properly. rgs can't understand a bloody word. Now I'm going to have to dig out the laptop and give you a <Terry F_kwitt> special. |
