This link below throws an interesting light on the aftermaths of the Vietnam war. There are a considerable number of Vietnam vets here in Thailand who have in may cases relayed their experiences of the war. The vets in the article have gone and taken a bigger step and returned to their former battlefield and live alongside their former enemie as do the local Vietnamese too. Certainly an interesting read and a new up to the minute angle on how those involved at the time feel now from both sides of the war. www.bbc.com/news/magazine-36363537

Long ago I worked with one, he was a friend. He declined to discuss the experience. I knew he had found returning to the USA a step too hard. Thailand was sanctuary.

Pat, i give him his name, saw that which no one should see. No, he did not tell me, others did, as to how he became like that. A great teacher, but unable to free himself of the damage he had done. Sound familiar? But i never went through that. My father did.
