I've got a cheek but at least I'm not selling my body. I walked down Loih Kroh tonight and was astounded at the amount of overweight bar girls. I'm talking 30% plus overweight.
Standing in 7/eleven, I was disappointed if not hurt to see grossly overweight teenagers. Everywhere I look I'm seeing obesity.
I'm hurt because I know what it's like, I know how it feels. This country is moving towards an obesity catastrophe.

Haha, it is quite depressing walking down LK.
I prefered the evening out in the night market the other week. Much more fun

I have noticed a spread, east-west, in waistlines in the 11 years or so I have been living/visiting here. My theory is they are slowly swinging over to western style foods and it is starting to "show". Bread, pizza, burgers, fries (sorry, CHIPS) fizzy drinks, cakes, cookies and candy etc. Having said that, a lot of the players that cruise Loi Kroh would probably think the girls here are as slim as Twiggy, compared to the birds "back 'ome.

Much more fun I was in Number 1 bar the other week, and was disappointed to have been put under pressure by a couple of members of staff. It was ridiculous, my pal was astonished how bad it was. You know the bar, it was never like that before. It was a place you could chill and blether. The place we werever at was far better. I still have two bottles of vodka and a bottle of whisky down there if you are up for another trip. @micksaraphee - what do you think?

The Number 1 Bar has always attracted the type of "foreign visitor" that p**s me off - either so stuck up you won't get a word out of them, or want to chew your ear off with tales of being screwed over by the Thais and how much they hate the effin' place. Can't go back there blether out of principle. About five years ago we had some gear stored in a room just down from the Number 1 Bar towards Loi Kroh, where the old lady sells food. Pulled up in the car one day to quickly pick something up, would not have been there more than 30 seconds and the bitch from that bar (think she was in charge) started abusing me for blocking the traffic. Told her to go duck herself and reminded her that she did not actually own the whole bloody soi. Have not been there since. Had a memorable good few sessions there over the years though. But once I tell someone off I never go back, strict rule I keep. (can never go back to a couple of bars in Saigon and a hotel in Hanoi, either, long stories) I never did much whoring in Loi Kroh (none that I will admit to here, anyway) but my favourite bar for years was there, in front of the Kick Boxing arena, and I staggered home from there on many a night. My favourite wat in Thailand is Loi Kroh, something about the artwork in that little building really attracted me, and there used to be an old monk there who spoke good Engrish who I used to go and chat with. My son insisted we go in there the other day when we were in town, he likes it as well. We lived in a condo for five years, just behind the Night Bazaar street, about 300 mtrs from Loi Kroh, so I spent a lot of time there over the years. Used to go to the Dukes now and again, had some good meals in there. Don't know what it is like now. My missus used to like the pizza cooked in the wood oven. I am trying to get into the Anusun Market again one night, have to see the lady we buy our coconut wood products from. Would like to have a couple of beers with you blether if you are available. My treat this time. Will ring you too Toady.

Rich kids tend to be fat, a Chinese thing. Astonished at the number of obese kids at my son's school. A bit of pole dancing should do the trick for ladies. The laddies , no hope. I am very slim, just drink and not eat. Easy.
Free booze is the answer, start them young. Pole dancing for girls, what to do with the boys. They are not much good at kicking balls, although that might help. Balls on poles?

This country is moving towards an obesity catastrophe. Just to verify something blether, does that mean 30% of the bargirls are overweight, or are they 30% overweight ? Like if a bargirl's ideal weight is say, 100kg and she is carting around 130kg. There was a bar inside Nana about 10 years ago where all the girls were quite petit and one girl was huge, at least 100kg. I asked one of the girls if that particular bargirl got lots of business and she said some guys make a bee-line for her and barfine her as soon as they see her.
