The nightlife landscape is changing. One offs, day parties and rotating nights are starting to outgun the conventional club residency, smaller festivals are starting to draw big attention as crowds get bored of paying the equivalent price of a small car for a weekend of seeing bands that share a mutual disinterest in them at the major events and there’s talk of even Ibiza losing its edge at the accepted go to global hotspot.

Step forward Magaluf. Previously considered a decadent lads-holiday resort - a point immortalised in 2011’s InBetweeners Movie - Magaluf has been quietly pulling crowds - and DJs, away from other destinations year on year as the resort has been upgrading bars, line-ups and more importantly, clientele. Music-News chatted to top A-Level leaver / student party outfit Magaluf Takeover to find out how the area is creating a new home for clubbers
