Sydney’s 40-plus summer of sweat: The record scorchers continuewww.news.com.au/national/nsw-act/sydneys-40plus-summer-of-sweat-the-record-scorchers-continue/news-story/761ed6af8dc7717ba0b2816661e63e3e"Sydneysiders, fresh from the hottest January on record, are again set to swelter with the brief respite of cooler days and nights set to end on Saturday. Several areas of Sydney had topped 40C At Bankstown at 1.45pm it was 42.7C, at Sydney Olympic Park, and Penrith is was 42.3C, and Camden, Canterbury, Horsley Park and Badgerys Creek Creek has all topped 41C." ........................."Birdsville, in Queensland’s far west is tipped to reach 48C next Tuesday, the same time Bourke is forecast to hit 46C"................... Forty-eight is not so bad when there is practically no humidity, as I experienced in western India in 2007. But when the humidity is up it is murder. I am sure those who worked in the ME would know all about it.

I still find the heat in Thailand more draining than Australian heat.

The worst heat, which is not necessarily the highest temperature, I have ever felt was in KL. Walked out of the air conditioned hotel reception area at about 9.00pm and the heat almost knocked me over. The big black guy on security said it was not that bad at the moment, it gets a lot worse in the "hot season". Jesus Christ. Prik of a place. Last time I landed there I was going to stay the night, flew down from BKK. Walked out of the airport, turned around and bought a ticket on the next flight to Singapore.

The old shitty airport my wife was harassed by this lady at a checkpoint. Where you going what you doing blah blah blah. I said shes with me and we have to wait 5hours in this dump of an airport to catch a plane out, so whats your problem ? Oh sorry sir we can see shes from Thailand was the answer. I gave her a mouthful after that and I'll never fly via kuala lumpur ever again.
