Well, I guess it depends on who you ask, but M$ simply knows it good for you "Windows 10: What is it good for? Microsoft pitches to devs ahead of Creators Update Gaming, mixed reality, Cortana Skills on the agenda as MS continues to plug UWP Microsoft briefed developers on the updates to the Windows 10 platform at an online Developer Day in preparation for the Creators Update, set for release later this year. The Windows 10 story is long and complex. In 2012 Microsoft released Windows 8, intended to bring the operating system into the mobile era, where apps are secure, touch-friendly and delivered from a Store, and the old desktop environment retained for legacy applications." www.theregister.co.uk/2017/02/09/microsoft_pitches_windows_10_to_developers_creators_update/Not sent from my i-mobile Hitz

I remember one Dev day many years ago they had one almost the same as the Cortana example....that time it was a person felt sick asked the phone who to see the phone contact a medical centre ,,informed insurance and aranged transport and defered the next appointments. All done with the Net....

How are you going with Linux, Uncle ? Still dabbling with it ? Too busy with other things. Also this was Mint on a PC I simply 'used' but didn't have a decent Internet connection for. Whenever I want 'something' Mint was trying to download that something. Mind you, the Mint 18.1 ISO was 'only' 1.68GB. Of course that would not include other, useless things like whatever creatures of the type 'user' would like to have. Personally I think linux is resembling 'bloatware'. Too much trying to satisfy all with any PC type. Not really different from Windows in some aspects.

You were good at running were you. When you worked in the bush and called a guy in the pub only a windmill mechanic you would have to be or you would be laid out cold.

Well to be honest I have only ever met a couple of windmill mechanics in my life. One was out in western QLD around Quilpie, and the other one was in central QLD when I worked in Blackwater. But both of them had at least one thing in common, a sense of humour.

From many years ago Ultrix, Philips MPX, Sco Unix, Digital Unix, DEC/Compaq/HP TRU64 Unix to HP-UX 11.31. The oldest I could still install if need be, fits on a dozen diskettes and runs nicely on an i486 33Mhz 'server' with 8M memory and a 65MB harddrive PS I also had a look at freeDOS 1.1 recently
