Reading this article I remembered our rgs saying he'd like a tradition Viking funeral. A old draken boat, our rgs in full dress, regalia, strangled servants to help him in Valhalla. Sailing down Khlong Sahn Saeb, full ablaze and so. Well, this is just about a 1000 year old children's toy. A happy kid playing and dreaming maybe? "The toy boat that sailed the seas of time A thousand years ago, for reasons we will never know, the residents of a tiny farmstead on the coast of central Norway filled an old well with dirt. Maybe the water dried up, or maybe it became foul. But when archaeologists found the old well and dug it up in the summer of 2016, they discovered an unexpected surprise: a carefully carved toy, a wooden boat with a raised prow like a proud Viking ship, and a hole in the middle where a mast could have been stepped." www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2017/02/170224093535.htm

It could be the remains of a ladle handle that had been carved of wood. Whats with the hole then? Maybe it was a hole for a hemp like wrist strap to stop the said ladle from slipping out of the hand of the ladler. Maybe it was there to put a cigarette in so smoke didn't get in the ladlers eyes. It could be many things. maybe a primitave ice skate blade, but a boat it is/was not IMO. I haven't even started thinking yet either. There's a distinct lack of free thought with today's scientists, teachers and students alike that is ultimately hindering them. If it looks like a duck, it's a duck is their conclusion.
