Its a <duck>ing disgrace this whole case.
I believe there is one more appeal and then the authorities will try to send the two lads for execution.
I guess the fireworks will begin then...tragic.

Around the time the murders happened, and the "No Thai could do this",; An SRT employee raped a girl on a train, then tossed her body from the train. That was in Surat Thani. He was drinking on the job, so the company banned alcohol on it's trains.

Whoever said "No Thai would do this" must be an effin' idiot, to make a statement like that. Thai prisons have heaps of examples of Thais who would do something like that.
Who did actually say that ?

A police chief at the time. IIRC. May be the same one who also said, "Normally we would go out and pick up 2 (likely suspects) and force them to confess. With the world watching, we can't do that. We must carry out a proper investigation." He disappeared and they reverted to plan A.

I don't think anyone who has an ounce of sense, and has spent time in Thailand believes that the verdict was solid. There are far too many unanswered questions and gaps in the whole shambles of an investigation.
The whole thing stinks

I could only open the last link. That stupid attitude - "No Thai would do that" is not patented here, it is all over the world. Ask any policeman who has ever knocked on a door and told someone they have arrested their kid on suspicion he was involved in burning the local high school down. The first words out of their mouths is - "My son would never do such a thing". It's human nature. But for a Thai police officer to say something like that in public is disgusting and ludicrous. |
