Korat is great compared to Udon. They should bulldoze that place, plough it up and plant vegetables. Surin is not much better (wife is from there)

Another place best used as a vege patch is Chum Phae, I would drink myself to death in the first month if I had to live there, what a depressing shithole.

Must disagree with you there Mick, the wifes sister lifes in Korat, only 4 hours up the road from Bkk, I would prefer she lived in Udon, in fact I would prefer she lived in Cambodia or wherever, a effin evil witch.

Luckily I didn't bump into her the many times I went there, had a great time and was treated well (mate from Oz and his wife had a bar there with live music)
Went to their wedding, 1500 people, professional dancing girls, live band, everyone was issued with Hawaiian shirts, what a hoot.

The only good thing I saw in Udon was a southern Thailand food festival the had in the park opposite the dingy hotel I stayed in once.
Second and third times I stayed at another hotel that had the fastest internet I had ever used, similar to BKK.
