At a private facility. An American, who was a teacher in the USA. Got bored with hanging around all day and went back to work. He likes tge flexibility of taking classes as it suits him.
Facility did him a deal. They have several students prepping for university in the West. He only works with them now. Sharpens them up and gives them an insight into what to expect. The students love him.
400 baht an hour. He works a 16 hour week. "I'll do more in the summer as the kids tend to panic before they leave for the West. I spend most of those classes helping them to understand the city and country they are moving to."
Four day week.
6,400 baht a week.
"It pays all my basic living expenses in Thailand. More than that, it saves me from dying of boredom."
Vacation time? "Rainy season. I head back to the US for a couple of months."
Girlfriend? "At my age? We call them companions. Latest companion is a French lady."
Switched on guy.

Yes having structure to your day is important here.
I had a busy one today...I've only just made it to the pub for example.
Outrageous really.

No, if you are a professional you do not work for dregs. Work for free, as i do , fine, but not go undercutting those who are genuine. If he is good, then he should be paid the correct fee. Mine was 3000 baht a day.

I was sat at the front of the bar enjoying a quiet beer or seventeen one time and one of the ponytailed wankers had a pop at me for smoking in the bar. By the time I finished with the <c**t> none of the regulars had anything to say. I just sat there smiling....oh and smoking.

By the time I finished with the <c**t> none of the regulars had anything to say. I just sat there smiling....oh and smoking. Would have liked to have seen that, I get a laugh out of things like that. I bet that fag tasted even better after that. (I have not had so much as a puff on one for five months now and I still get cravings at times) When I first met wife #1 in CR years ago I was staying in a guesthouse in Jet Yod, and the little go-go bar soi was right behind us. One night about 11.30pm when the bars were just starting to crank up this Frog prik who was staying in one of the rooms at the front of the building knocked on my door and asked me to keep the noise down ! The effin' idiot thought the loud music and girls/ladyboys going off was coming out of my room. My missus was sitting on the bed knitting and I had been watching a movie on my laptop which you could barely hear. I gave him the biggest FO he had ever had and slammed the door in his face almost collecting his big French nose. Missus said - "WTF" ? and when I told her what he was complaining about she laughed, said what did he think we were doing in here ? At ease, smoke if you got 'em.

Mine was 3000 baht a day. What about the non professionals who dont need the money? Guy I used to know explained it to me as, its keeps me off the p**s and gives me something to do, its XXXX baht of my own money I am not spending, added bonuses, his standing shot up in the local community and he was exposed to a better class of woman (in fact they were chasing him, he was fighting them off wih a stick), but the most important, he had access to the Thai healthcare system. Of course he could have spent all day knocking back Archa and badmouthing all things Thai on the inter thingy.
