Samsung's warning: Our Smart TVs record your living room chatter www.cnet.com/uk/news/samsungs-warning-our-smart-tvs-record-your-living-room-chatter/.........................."Why worry about Big Brother? It's your big Samsung TV that's watching you. Oh, and listening to you. That seems to be the conclusion from reading the privacy small print offered by the company. (Samsung's motto: TV has never been this smart.) It concerns the voice-recognition feature, vital for everyone who finds pressing a few buttons on their remote far too tiresome"............................. They would probably switch off if they ever heard what I say to TV sets, when I do look at them. Have not looked at one for nearly six months now and don't really care if I never do again. Much prefer the internet where I can select almost anything I want to watch, anytime, and not be bombarded with senseless advertising.

Apart from TV and refrigerator there's also the threat of wifi enabled dolls "German Regulators Urge Parents To Destroy WiFi Connected Doll Over Surveillance Fears For a while now, we've discussed how your children's toys are quickly becoming the latest and greatest privacy threat courtesy of cryptic or half-cooked privacy policies and the treatment of device security as an afterthought; rather part and parcel now for the privacy dumpster fire that is the internet of not-so-smart things era. Numerous privacy groups have complained that smart Barbies and other toys not only now hoover up and monetize childrens' prattle, but leave the door open to the devices' being used nefariously by third parties." www.techdirt.com/articles/20170221/05024636753/german-regulators-urge-parents-to-destroy-wifi-connected-doll-over-surveillance-fears.shtml

Its possible for them to insert sensor pixels in the space between the tv's pixels effectively turning it into a digital camera sensor.
Wouldn't surprise me if they've patented it already.
