not too off-topic I hope, but the 3 Arab airlines I will never fly again (no matter how cheap they are): Kuwait Airways, Saudia and EgyptAir...and this has nothing to do with alcohol restrictions.

*snicker* pants on fire. Qatar is the best one, flight from Doha to HK the lovely lad with the nice arse and mincing walk, left the bottle of red with our dinner after he was complimented on his good service.

For anyone flying from Australia to Bangkok, I have flown Royal Brunei my last couple of trips. Stopover in BWN is minimal, and the service is very good. Business cabin rarely full-even had the cabin to myself on the BWN-MEL leg. Flying new 787's. Great value. At least $500-$2000+ cheaper than Thai or Qantas/Emirates.

Not sure re the fuel surcharge, and no alcohol service, but you are more than welcome to consume any duty free you may have in your possession. Personally, I don't drink whilst flying, so not an issue for me.
