Was speaking to a guy whose son trains with Celtic and he told me their youtb set up has now gone very much the Barcelona way with a lot more focus on ball skills and small short games of football.
The sooner we see better tactical football in Scotland the better!

Saturday night's big game didn't do much for Scotland. First half was dull. 2nd half, England weren't great, but scored 2 very nice goals from open play, and generally controlled the game. Scotland were dire. 2 well taken free kicks combined with poor defending of them by England gave Scotland a get out of jail free card. Other than that Scotland never looked like doing anything. ...had to laugh at the article going back to 2002 and Celtic vs Blackburn, yes Blackburn, to try and make a case. Then Celtic vs Liverpool under Graeme Souness - probably their worst manager in recent times. The author seems to have overlooked Liverpool, ManU and Chelsea winning the UEFA champions league since then, while ManU and Chelsea have won the Europa league. But hey when you cherry pick "the best" of the last 15 years in your favour that's not unexpected. . The sneering probably comes about more by people like the author stretching points and trying to cherry pick, but still failing |
