I had to find a village pub on Saturday night here in England. No streetlight at all and no idea where the pub or indeed even village was. Of course with google maps and my phone's torch it was a doddle. Twenty years ago I'd have ended up in a field in Hampshire shagging a cow. Ahhh the good old days! You have it wrong.....it is the one you picked up at the pub you should have shagged not the cow.....you kick the cow up so that you find a warm dry bit of ground to lie on.

Good news for those in South Australia? Maybe, better read the fine print and write all down. When do the 100 days start for instance "Elon Musk: I can fix South Australia power network in 100 days or it's free The Tesla founder says he can build a 100MW battery storage farm within 100 days or provide the system free of charge Elon Musk, the billionaire co-founder of electric car giant Tesla, has thrown down a challenge to the South Australian and federal governments, saying he can solve the state’s energy woes within 100 days – or he’ll deliver the 100MW battery storage system for free. On Thursday, Lyndon Rive, Tesla’s vice-president for energy products, told the AFR the company could install the 100-300 megawatt hours of battery storage that would be required to prevent the power shortages that have been causing price spikes and blackouts in the state." www.theguardian.com/technology/2017/mar/10/elon-musk-i-can-fix-south-australia-power-network-in-100-days-or-its-freeDone finished, 99 days from the bet and 45 days from the acceptance of it. www.engadget.com/2017/11/23/tesla-australia-powerpack-100-day-bet/

I hear it will take the same power as to run 4,000 domestic homes to recharge the new TESLA truck.
And this is environmentally friendly?

I hear it will take the same power as to run 4,000 domestic homes to recharge the new TESLA truck. And this is environmentally friendly? Well it depends. If the electricity is generated via solar panels it's a bit more 'environmental' friendly than having a truck using diesel oil. Of course even 'solar energy' has it's price and effect on the environment, but it seems a 'cleaner' (and not 'clean') alternative. For a real clean solution I fear genocide might be the only option left

Could be, but for South Australia not really a worthwhile alternative I'm afraid.

Lots of rabbits as well, but surface water is sparse especially in hilly areas where you could use the elevation drop for electricity generating turbines. As far as I remember that is, but I don't think I'm that far off.

Thailand should be ripe for hydroelectric too.
