RE: A BA check-in agent writes about how they select passengers for downgrading and offloading
Admittedly it can be really satisfying to see the high and mighty downgraded.
And even better when you see them asked to step onto the hand dolly.
Some of those older flight attendants are not very gentle, and the expressions on the faces of biz and first class pax as they are shoved through the dividing curtain are pretty priceless.
I know I shouldn't, but I usually keep my camera out and ready. Eventually I plan to create a pictorial essay.

I only ever flew international with QANTAS (Queers and nymphos training to be airline stewards) once. The old hosties reminded me of female prison wardens from an old black and white movie.

Third class flight far better than a first class delay.

QANTAS has great stewards and terrible hostesses. I will give the person who staffed QANTAS with gay flight attendants (he was gay himself) at a time few oportunites for gay people for selecting and training and instilling and developing the right mix between polite good service and a knowledge of their job and safety responsibities. An older QANTAS steward excels.

As a rule of thumb, the less I interact with attendants the better. An Emirates hostess told me that the Indian flights were the worst for demanding passengers with one complaining to the purser -
"My maid is ignoring me." The "maid," being the flight attendant. Purser went mad.
I was talking to a male purser who joined Emirates the year after they were founded. He bemoaned the rapid growth of the company as the staff ethic was wilting......
"But then again, so is passenger behaviour."
To me, it's only a question of time till drinking on aircraft is banned.

Someone once told me that the worst possible job in the world is any job where you are dealing directly with the public. I have been lucky in my working life and have hardly ever had to do it, and when I did I insulted them and did not have to do it any more ! Always a lot of Indians on the flights between BKK and Brisbane. They look like they would be "hard work" for the hosties. If I ever go to the UK I am going to fly with Yorkshire Airlines, they look really good -
