Now just bare in mind i was Buddhist before i came to Thailand. Reason i came and not some other place. Did i find Buddhism? No. Who were my mentors? Books. Yes there were Buddhists i knew in England, have said as much before. Did i accept their point , no. So, maybe you are correct, i have never met a Buddhist. Neither have I ever met a Christian. I doubt there was a moment in your life you were ever Buddhist. I doubt it too, did you not read ? I enjoy our discourses. That is not flattery. It reminds me of my early days, when i did not associate with like minds. Far too easy. Of debate, of always questioning.Of being willing to empathise, try to understand another's point of view. No , i never ended up thumping them. That would be total defeat. Self defence another thing. Ramble. My local "enemy/friend". The one who i did lose it with when he tried to bring my son into our debate. Yes i posted it on here. Instinct, parental instinct. I talked of this with him the other evening. He got it. Did not need to apologize , just admitted that he transgressed and understood my gut reaction. We greeted each other today. Is that religion? I don't think so. |

A silly post script, but true.
On here one accused me of beer speaking. It was at the time untrue.
Being me, i set forth to buy some beer, to see if that would alter my writing. Here the result.
On the way i met a "friend" no a group of "friends".
Now if you were a stranger, i would not blame you for being a little scared of a drunken gang.
I knew them all.
One immediately came out and hugged me. Totally p**sed.
That is unusual , perhaps not. I go for perhaps not. I will use the name Buhi, Bleth knows my real name.
Friend hugging me, buhi, come and join us.
"Why are you p**sed?".
"It's my birthday,".
"Then i will join you and get some more booze dear friend,".
Yea a local motorcyce taxi driver.
Is he Buddhist?
Friendship, not religion.

But will share, that picture.  Of our wedding day. It was not a conventional wedding. Her mother, one i loved, said i have never seen any thing like it. No church, no reception, just us at where we last were before moving on. We left. I kind of like that even now. Ex saw my comment and laughed, not a sad laugh, not a happy laugh, a laugh we knew. Some are confused; that is not me in the photo, am not sure there is one of me. I resist photos. That is our best friend. We lived together, were so very close. And he can still be close and i can not. I know every part of her mind (then) and her body (then). Now a photo. Is that what we are? A ninety minute film of a life? A book of ex hundred words? No. |

To be true to self?
Arts?
Money?
Can be both?
Well look at history.
But money has to be a consequence , not a motivation.
Sure i see the illogicality of that premise, but most strive for money, that is capitalism. Then seek arts for essential living.
It does not have to be, but always will be.

Tjeez bowie, are you trying to force your own morality on us  Uncle , please.I would not force any morality on anyone. I would ask for anyone to consider it. Perhaps that is my christian inculcation raising its head. I would prefer it to be logic and philosophy, but then i am an artist. And art breaks those constraints. No uncle, have your principles and question them. When confronted with others who question, consider, accept their point of view and question where that came from.It is question never accept as truth. I have principles and regularly do a reality check but not because you tell me, my dear bowie |
