Hello again to all the crazy mango's that lurk around the shadows here. Sorry I've been neglecting this gentlemen's club (and lady's club too no doubt) for so long, but I got sidetracked with other things. So I guess I should ask that ultimate question, which is... Do you want me to hang out here and add to the amusement of all things Thailand, or am I just going to be more noise? The reason I ask this is: 1. I am insecure...... (d.i.l.l.i.g.a.f) 2. I was invited to another forum a few months back and as I knew most of the peeps there, so I gave it some effort to be part of that community and started to enjoy the community building. Alas, the forum only had a short life so I thought I might come and lurk here again. 3. I do like to feel like I'm part of a Thai expat community, but there is so much backstabbing in the YouTube scene, it's not easy to build a community there without attracting the troll armies from other YT channels. 4. I am trying to build a following on my YouTube channel, and yes, there is a commercial side to YT which does conflict with one of this forums rules, so I don't want to p**s people off. 5. I am also trying to establish a foothold in the Blogging community as well simply because I believe I do have something to offer to people who are considering Thailand as a destination for retirement and possibly early retirement. This also as a commercial side if it grows. 6. I did feel like I was accepted here, but as I was the noob, it was a bit of a challenge to establish a foothold and banter with the best of them here. Anyway, here's the latest video if you're interested. Just be yourself, give as good as you get and you will be fine on here. If you want to do vlogging do it coz you enjoy it, any money you make is a bonus, at the end of the day, theres only so many temples, shopping malls and markets you can show, its like a washing machine on repeat cycle. Take the road less travelled and get off the beaten track, but theres the dilemna, as soon as you post it, every digital pikey and his dog will be all over it, as if they have found the holy grail. I got into it on another forum, asked the guy, was he a photographer or a blogger? His photos were good, they were effin damned good, but then he went into some sort of lonely planet speak, I told him, let the photos speak for themselves. The upshot was, just another two week millionaire, couldnt speak a word of thai, he followed the usual tourist/blogger/vlogger route, eg, he had nothing to offer. Find your niche and concentrate on that, you are already one step ahead off the herd of stampeding buffalo, I know you are smart enough to work that out yourself, well there you go, grab it and go for it.

The only car/ bike show I went to there was a bikini clad piece rolling over the bonnet. Old chap pulls out his camera and told her to 'eff off so he could get a photo. "I didn't come here to 'effin' see you".

"I didn't come here to 'effin' see you". The Junta really put the downer on the whole eye candy part of the Motor Expo. Mind you, those outfits were getting skimpier and skimpier every year and if it kept going in that direction, it would be a Nude Motor Expo now -

They cant, but thats the price of face and status, more important than a bank balance, douben bonus, you get to rub your neighbours face in the dirt, its called keeping up with the somchais. Beyond me, why anyone would chose to purchase debt. I see the signs as I drive along the road, no credit check, no downpayment required, drive away today for free. Great stuff saddled with debt for the next 7 years. Motocy, buy today, cash price 40,000 baht, no money no problem you can still have the honey, sign here please. 3,000 baht per month for the next 36 months. Do the basic arthimetic, its a no brainer, no ploblem for somchai.

Thailand isn't the best place to get technical expertise and again I find myself challenged with experts that simply don't have a clue.

^^| You're still lucky. Standard approach nowadays seems to be 'for hardly more than what repair might cost you you can buy a new one'. Mind you Computers like PCs and especially notebooks can get very hot inside. At times I use a small fan for some extra airflow. You may also 'clean' filters, sometimes just a metal mesh, but can also clog up. Depends a bit on how dusty the environment is. Just open the box and either use a hover, or just let a fan blow away dust for awhile. BTW 'hwinfo' is a nice (and free) tool which gives detailed info on your PC/notebook hardware (assuming it's running windows). Amongst the details are temp of CPU and hard drive. Just have a look at www.hwinfo.com

A mate of mine recently left Thailand.
He wanted to get his cable tv turned off and was told over the phone he had to visit the head office in MoChit to do so. In person while on the phone to them!! Idiots. Poor guy had to travel to the other side of town for that. His first question in their office was why can I join over the phone??
Just another example of useless Thai 'professionals " at work.

Just another example of useless Thai 'professionals " at work. Thailand is a great place so long as you don't need anything done for you.... by "professionals"
