Of a Tai Yai girl who loved a boy and did that natural thing. And at seventeen found herself pregnant. The doctor checked her womb and the baby was small, so the doctor said " eat more, the baby needs nutrients."
And when the baby was born, he was too big to pass naturally. The doctor decided to use suction to aid the birth, and applied the cup to the baby's face. This resulted in the child's nose being destroyed, along with other damage.
The mother went to register the birth, the father refused to show up. "Unknown," is the father.
The baby is now two, and is due reconstructive surgery this week. The Thai government has allocated 100,000 baht for the operation. They also want to do tests on his brain function, he's slow to talk.
His granddad is the primary carer, mum works two jobs in Chiang Mai. And no, she ain't a bar girl - daytime works for a marketing company, nighttime as a waitress.
I went to see the child the other day, along with Son of Blether. He's a tiny wee thing, cute as a button and with a sunshine personality. He loves the "voom-voom," that being the motorbike.
Son of Blether said "I don'the want to hear people moan about their lives any more. Look at the start that little boy has had and he's a wee star."
Just a wee story about a girl that loved a boy, was abandoned, and now has a wee boy that depends on her.
I'll let you know how the operation goes.

Operate the fathers head off his neck.
Thai dads can be complete and utter cold bastards. I'll never get it.

So it's the mums fault? Fk him, man up. Just cause you're not mentally stable and cant live with the fact you made a child , doesn't mean you aren't the father. p**s weak dad's that run off like little boys are the worst. Fact.

I started a thread once on dads that run away like little kids on thai visa.
I was hounded by everyone and told to mind my own business. The only person that stuck up for me was shaggy.

Point I was making was better no father than a moron who is in and out of children's lives and an atrocious role model. Growing up I saw plenty of them. Conversely I remember one happy kid lose his mother....his father was bereft with grief and was hardly feeding this kid. We must have been 7-8 years old. The lad was invited to sit at our table at lunchtime and would be passed this or that without a word being spoken. Happy to say his dad finally came to his senses after a social services intervention...how strange that young kids could see clearly the problem yet it took months for the family to receive any help or support. He used to go scavenging for food on the beach after school so he would have something for his dinner. Heartbreaking when I think back on it now.

Yep , dad's can be fking useless. Tell me about it.
My dad was never around for well over 30yrs. Ironically because of that he taught me to be a good father.

I had the best parents anyone could ever hope for, hard working, hard drinking but always put their kids first.
Feel so sorry for kids that did / do not have that luxury.
