Get away from the lower suk enclave/skytrain line and you will find street life carries on as normal.
Not mentioned, those Malls are jam packed on a weekend, the minions queing up to get into Jap/Korean all you can eat 400 baht buffets.
Check out the upper floors, full of clinics, beauty salons, fitness clubs etc etc.
The Hiso go to shop, the middle class go to eat, the peasants go to escape the heat and humidity, win win, never heard of one yet having to close.
Fashion Island, Mega Bang Na, Seacon, Paradise Park drawing the punters in every day.

Know all the folk, apart from that exquisite beauty i have never seen before. Get out of the so called downtown . The wage earners there can afford and market rules apply. Now here,it is just now. Will it last? Of course not. So who asks for the static ? Enjoy while you can and remember you are not eternal. Oh she was beautiful. But will she age? Ate my lunch and careful glances, did not want to perv. Stunning. A moment in time. |

bowie, months ago I was at a roadside noodle stall in Pak Nam, sat on my todd, the mrs had gone to visit her mother.
sat oppsoite me, also on her todd, was a "hottie".
She was watching me watching her.
Being the man I thought it was the gentlemanly thing to do, break the ice.
Conversation went something like this,

อร่อยค่ะ
คิดว่ากินคนเดียวไม่อร่อย
Get your son to translate.
Started talking, girl told me she was Mon, same as my wife I replied.
Big Mama the owner now jumped in and took over, laughs all round, related to my mrs, she was visiting from Korat.
We started talking, mobile phones were pulled out and face ache photos exchanged, its a small world down that part of town, the real bkk, the real thailand that the 2 week millionaires never see, total community spirit.

I doubt if Da Vinci had ever heard the expression, ee ha, again get your son to translate, was hilarious when the mrs showed up and watching the wais being exchanged.
Heres another litten story from that part of town and acceptable behaviour.
One of those pickup trucks selling crap appeared, speakers blaring.
Somchai asked him to please turn off the noise, dap siang noi.
Face now reared its ugly head, vendor refused to back down.
I knew there would be problems when XXXXX picked up a brick and started his motocy, next minute engine revved and brick through the windscreen, message sent.
Khun kai kong hasnt been seen on the soi since, no one saw a thing.

^^^,  , the lurkers couldnt afford the foodcourt prices and lack of wifi, thankfully its a pikey free zone. PS, I love the sound of those bloody sqauking parrots, right next door is Tawana Square, right beside it is a great place to meet local women. PPS, dont mention HappyLand. |
