As normal Thailands finest talking bollox as usual, what they are suggesting occured could only possibly happen if the garden was flooded and full of water More likely some fker has laid a "cable "and the guy has put a fork or spade through it

The electrician ran a power line from our house to the boundary wall through a length of 1" plastic pipe, under our gravel driveway. I was not there when he did the job.
The lazy prik could not have buried it very deep because it popped up out of the ground.

Condolences to the poor guy's family.
I would not be game to plant a tree in our yard unless I shut the power off first. Never know where they have run cables. Wish I was here when they did the job, would have made sure they were heavily insulated, buried at the right depth, and made a diagram of the block indicating where all power and water lines were.
I had a 10 acre block in Australia with every underground power and water line plotted.
